An intimate conversation with SaVAge K'lub artist members Numa Mackenzie and Ruth McDougal. The SaVAge K’lub led by Rosanna Raymond was founded in 2010 and has since been activating spaces both in New Zealand and abroad including its pop-up headquarters in Chinatown, Honolulu as part of HB19. The K’lub itself is an open group of artists who come together to activate installation spaces and objects to explore notions of activation and the va. The use of capital letters in SaVAge references the Samoan concept of time and space of the va. The va is an understanding that space is active and made active by people.
